‘Hindrance within Burden' is an experimental typographic poster series that explores the psychological confusion and pressure that emerge at the intersection of Korean and English language systems. Inspired by the linguistic tension and conflict experienced when a foreign language becomes part of everyday life in an unfamiliar country, the project investigates the combination and deconstruction of Korean and English typography. Developed within the context of a fictional exhibition, the work visualises the emotional structures that arise when languages overlap and interact. Guided by the key themes of ‘complex narratives’, ‘expressive attitudes’, and ‘experimental approaches’, the project seeks to transform linguistic confusion into graphic form. The poster series consists of three parts exploring ‘Burden', ‘Hindrance’ and a state in which the two emotions coexist and intertwine ‘Burden and Hindrance’. Viewers can access motion posters through their mobile phones, allowing the static typography to expand into movement. Through this transition, the project makes the tension of language and the collision of typographic structures more perceptible and immediate.
‘부담 속의 방해 (Hindrance within Burden)’는 한글과 영어의 언어 체계가 교차하는 지점에서 발생하는 심리적 혼란과 압박을 다룬 실험적 타이포그래피 포스터 시리즈이다.
타국에서 외국어가 일상이 되는 상황 속 언어적 긴장과 충돌을 주제로, 한글과 영문 타이포그래피의 결합과 해체를 시도했다. 이를 가상의 기획전 맥락 안에서 전개하며, 언어가 중첩될 때 발생하는 감정의 구조를 시각화한다. ‘복잡한 서사’, ‘표현적 태도’, ‘실험적 접근’을 핵심 키워드로 삼아, 언어적 혼란을 그래픽 구조로 전환하고자 했다. 포스터는 ‘부담’, ‘방해’, 그리고 두 감정이 혼합된 상태를 다룬 ‘부담과 방해’ 총 세 가지 시리즈로 구성된다. 관람자는 휴대폰을 통해 모션 포스터를 경험할 수 있으며, 정적인 타이포그래피가 움직임으로 확장되면서 언어적 긴장과 구조적 충돌을 보다 선명하게 인식할 수 있다.
